HO JIAK

From the murals to the menu, every aspect of this hatted Malaysian restaurant reflects co-owner Junda Khoo’s childhood in Penang, specifically the hours he spent enthralled by his grandma’s cooking.

With family in mind, Junda is helping make Mother’s Day a bit more special by offering her a glass of champagne with one of the banquet menus.

LOULOU

Oui oui for Loulou, because with a bistro, boulangerie and traiteur in one central location, you can gift mum a little slice of France with a mere jaunt to Lavender Bay.

At the Bistro, the terrace’s blue and white cafe-style chairs conjure images of Parisian streets, while inside has a warm and welcoming old-world elegance.

It’s the perfect setting to enjoy the limited-edition two-course set menu of saucisson sec, chicken liver parfait, and snapper en papillote with two hours of bottomless Rosé à Volonté.

RAFI

It’s all about the vibe at RAFI, a 300-seat hatted restaurant and bar in North Sydney with dishes inspired by elements of Sydney’s coast.

Overseeing the menu of locally sourced seafood and produce cooked over charcoal is Peruvian Executive headchef Matias Cilloniz who has grown up harvesting produce on his family’s farm, brings with him an understanding and respect for the fresh seasonal ingredients that drive the menu.

For Mother’s Day, and as part of American Express delicious. MonthOut, Cilloniz has curated a four-course share menu featuring many dishes that brought RAFI to the forefront of Sydney’s dining scene.

Seafood-loving mums will enjoy the South Coast tuna with tomato and tahini; grilled lobster with cultured butter; kingfish with avocado, chalaquita and plum; and dry-aged black Angus sirloin MB5+.

This limited-edition menu is only available on Sunday, May 14, for a two-hour lunch sitting ($150pp).

THE BOTANIST

Once the home of Gerard Fothergill, a British botanist in the 1800s, this casual bar and restaurant pays homage to the adventurer with dishes that use premium, local and seasonal produce.

This celebratory eight-dish feast includes generous servings of Four Pillars Yuzu gin-cured trout, with dill and citrus crème fraiche; Vanella Burrata with heirloom tomatoes and basil and vincotto; John Dory fillet with roasted pumpkin; lemon tart with Italian meringue and rhubarb compote, and more.
