Influencer Isabelle Mathers has ruffled feathers by wearing a “revealing” dress to the Wicked premiere in Sydney on Sunday.

The 25-year-old model and social content creator, who has over two million followers, posted a photo carousel on Instagram on Monday night showing off her red carpet look.

She wore a floor-length black gown that was mostly sheer, except for the bust area, which was covered with lace, and the crotch area, which was adorned with appliqué flowers.

Mathers opted for a black high-cut G-string which was on full display as she posed for the cameras and greeted fans.

The dress appears to be from the beloved ‘it-girl’ brand Mirror Palais and has a $1580 price tag.

People in the comments weren’t impressed with Mathers’ choice of attire.

“This is literally just lingerie,” one wrote.

“It’s lovely … but to a PG movie premiere? It’s not the Met Gala,” another said.

“Time and place, she should be more of a role model,” voiced a third.

“How is that appropriate for the event or classy?” a fourth questioned.

Yet another commenter remarked, “That’s really not a dress … you don’t need to be naked to be pretty. I don’t say be covered all over, obviously not, but the bare minimum at least.”

Another mentioned that Wicked is rated PG so Mathers should have considered that it was going to be a “kid-friendly” event when choosing her outfit.

However, others praised her for the look, saying she looked “stunning” and like a “goddess”.

“Only you could pull this off,” claimed one.

“You’re so beautiful,” expressed another fan.

“Unless you’re her mother, manager or clothing brand that’s sponsoring her … please shut up. She can wear whatever she wants,” a fan snapped.

It’s not the first time Mathers has been slammed for her outfit choice.

In May this year, she left people outraged after she wore a “controversial” outfit to her best friend Rachel Dillon’s Italian wedding.

She donned a cream-coloured, sheer gown with a diamond-shaped cut-out on the stomach.

Hundreds of people commented on her Instagram photos from the destination wedding, accusing her of trying to “outshine the bride”.

“I don’t want to be mean. But that’s not an appropriate dress for a wedding,” one commented.

“The belly cut out for wedding? Just seems not appropriate,” someone else remarked.

“You wore cream to a wedding? What’s wrong with you?” another wrote.

But Mathers wasn’t having any of it and clapped back at her critics.

“The bride is my best friend … you don’t think I discussed every single one of my outfits with her?” she replied in the comments.

Dillion didn’t seem troubled by Mather’s ball gown moment.

She posted plenty of wedding content to her 1.7 million followers, and Mathers heavily featured in many of the photos.
