The woman claims it's the easiest way to serve a pasta salad while on a picnic or for a party, but there are two steps that haven't convinced some people.

Sometimes the internet gives us a 'hack' that is so ridiculous that we feel we absolutely must try it in order to prove our point of it being so stupid.

And then something strange happens (and least for me). We discover that the 'hack' is actually pretty good and we just might do it again sometime.

We saw it unfold with this coffee jar hack, this hot dog hack using a thermos, and this Maccas hack that really divided people on the www.

And now you can add another to that list - Esky Pasta!

Esky Pasta is your new summertime hack

Yes, it's a thing.

Female duo Janelle & Kate took to their Facebook page recently to share a rather unique way of making a giant pasta salad.

They dubbed it the "best way to make pasta salad" so naturally people tuned in.

In the video, Kate shows how she uses an esky to make a pasta salad with a heap of ingredients already prepped, including pre-cooked pasta, onions, capsicum, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and carrots.

It's the most fuss-free meal prep we've seen in a long time. Simply chuck all the ingredients into the cooler, toss around with a jar of mayonnaise and dry seasoning of your choice, and voila! You're good to go.

It's perfect to "serve at any party, family get-together, or picnic," the clever ladies declared.

The internet is divided

Of course, the moment the video hit the internet, people were torn.

The comments ranged from "what in the world is this concoction?" to "perfect, rolling it right to the picnic!"

But there was a particular observation in the video that really had people talking - and it had to do with two specific ingredients added.

Some couldn't quite get their heads around dressing the salad with mayo instead of the traditional olive oil or vinegarette.

"Never heard of mayonnaise in pasta salad," one person commented on Facebook.

And another agreed: "Mayo ? I thought ppl used Italian salad dressing. Not liking the mayo part."

Cut up those vegetables, people

Meanwhile, others had a real problem with the big chunks of vegetables tossed in there without dicing them up into small bite-sized pieces.

"I would cut up the carrots. Also I would wash the cherry tomatoes before putting in salad," one person shared.

"The veggies still need to be cut smaller and WASHED," another echoed.

"Choking hazard for sure I’m just saying," another alerted.

And another laughed: "That’s not pasta salad that’s a whole bunch of big pieces of veggies with pasta in it."

But the best comment of all came from one person who is just so fed up with seeing food hacks and just wants real food served with no magic tricks added.

"I’m tired of yal playin games with the food," they wrote.

Agreed. But totally still giving it a go!
