ANYONE who has been watching The Block may well have kitchen envy. There’s much to lust after with sophisticated and on-trend designs coupled with plenty of open space and storage.

And who wouldn’t want a butler’s pantry — a space to hide away dirty dishes during a dinner party as well as all those appliances with messy cords.

Well thought-out design, space and storage is a reality in the two-storey Catalina 31, the newest display home from Fairmont Homes and proving popular with larger and blended families.

A vast walk-in pantry is a major feature of the open galley-style kitchen at the rear of the ground floor, which is big enough to be converted into your very own butler’s pantry should you want one.

And the spacious storage options don’t end there. There is large linen cupboard in an alcove outside the first floor bathroom and a larger-than-usual laundry leading out into the backyard. Upstairs, each bedroom has a built-in wardrobe and the master suite has an expansive walk-in robe.

LIVING

There are plenty of options for separate living areas on both levels of this home, making it perfect for growing families, those with older children, or those with blended groups.

As you enter the home, you find a living area to the right, which could easily double as a home office or study. Beyond this area, you will find a theatrette and to the rear, the home opens up to reveal an open-plan kitchen, dining and family area.

A double garage off the long entry hall has internal entry for convenience when bringing in groceries and protection from the weather.

At the rear is a covered alfresco area off the dining room, which allows homeowners to extend living areas beyond the walls of the home, particularly when entertaining.

Upstairs, the landing opens on to a large sitting room offering a third and separate living option.

The light-filled upstairs living area makes a great teenage retreat.

BEDROOMS

The four bedrooms in this family home are all located in the back portion of the second storey. The master suite occupies the entire back section, with an expansive U-shaped walk-in robe and ensuite featuring a luxe double shower, leading out from the bedroom.

Further forward are three similar and well-proportioned secondary bedrooms, all with built-in robes. They share the upstairs bathroom off the common hallway, the only bathroom in the home to feature a bathtub.

The large bedrooms offer privacy, space and natural light.

There is also easy access to the sitting room at the front of this floor, a great option for families with teens or younger children who can use this area as a designated playroom. This room has two windows for loads of natural light.

The cleverly thought out design is only 10.9m wide but has the features of an executive class of home. The warm feel of the interior designed colour palette combines exceptionally well with the Victorian ash staircase and glass handrail. A large format porcelain tiled floor leads you through to the open floorplan, comprising the kitchen, meals and family room allowing for easy entertaining through to the alfresco area.
