Australian photographers make their mark on IWP 2019 awards
From a dog scooting on its behind during a bridal shoot to a couple making the most of a rainy day, Aussies have made their mark on a prestigious wedding photography competition.

One of the globe’s most prestigious wedding photography competitions has revealed the beautiful, romantic and downright funny entries it received this year.
While Aussie photographers missed out on the overall first place and runner up titles in the International Wedding Photographer of the Year (IWP) 2019 awards, they sure made a mark.
From a pooch scooching its behind on the ground during a bride’s photoshoot to a couple making the most of a rainy day at the Sydney Opera House, entrants successfully captured the essence of Australians and their “big day”.
Nationwide entrants into this year’s awards include Oli Sansom, Dylan Kovacevic, Ky Luu, Shayben Moussa, Jesse Hunter, Alex Olguin, Eric Wang and Gaelle Le Berre.
The categories entered into included Album, Black and White, Bridal Party, Couple Portrait, Dance Floor, Epic Location, From Above, Single Capture, Solo Portrait, Engagement and Non Wedding, and Film Photography and Analog.
In the third year running, the IWP awards shine a light on the best and most creative photographers within the wedding industry.
The international grand winner, Jeff Chang, of Canada, was awarded for his photograph highlighting the celebration of a couple’s love and cultural fusion.
The runner up title was awarded to Xenia Shabanova, of Estonia, for her photograph capturing the moments leading up to a couple’s ‘big day’, when they are separated in individual hotel rooms before the ceremony.
