DESPITE the average Australian woman clocking in at a size 14, Robyn Lawley says at that, she’s still considered plus-size.

ROBYN Lawley says it’s “degrading” to consider a size 14 woman plus-size.
The Aussie said she despairs at the rake-thin models often put forward as the beauty ideal and hates the extreme dieting many women put themselves through.
While the average Australian woman clocks in at a size 14, at that size Lawley is considered a plus-size model — a term she deplores and has long campaigned against.
“I find it kind of degrading. If the national average is a size 14, then we shouldn’t be segregating people of that size. I feel healthy and natural at that size,” she said, adding she copped “a lot of backlash” from the plus-size community when she first spoke out about the terminology.
The mother-of-one said she never dieted, though she was careful about she consumed.
“I eat what I want in moderation, and because of that I feel full,” Lawley said. “I don’t go on diets, I don’t eat fat-free — that’s full of chemicals that should be avoided and it tastes like crap.”
Announced this week as Westfield’s beauty and wellness ambassador, Lawley said the shopping centre chain’s decision to work with her was groundbreaking.
“I think it’s absolutely a sign of things to come, it’s a great way forward — even in the campaign I’m standing next to other models who are the same size as me, which isn’t very common in the mainstream media and advertising,” the New York-based model said.
