A 25-year-old who claimed to be homeless last year says she’s saved enough money using an unconventional “hack” to have now bought a million dollar apartment.
Emily Webb, an influencer and adult content creator from the Gold Coast, shared that last year she alternated between couch surfing and going on dates to find a decent place to sleep for the night.
And during that time, she managed to stash away enough cash to put down a home deposit.
“I actually managed to save enough by not paying rent for several months that I was able to buy instead,” she revealed to news.com.au.
“I’m so happy and grateful for my new million dollar apartment in the Gold Coast.”
She added: “I’m just really hoping it doesn’t get washed away in this cyclone now!”
However, she said on TikTok over the weekend that the cyclone only took “the Pav” – meaning the Burleigh Pavilion – and “my birthday”.

Ms Webb has posted countless videos to her social media showing off her stunning new pad.
It features a huge white kitchen with an island bench and modern appliances, an expansive balcony and beautiful views of the Gold Coast.
The “homeless” influencer
Despite earning a high income from her 100,000 OnlyFans subscribers and being willing to pay up to $1000 a week in rent, she was unable to secure a place to live for several months last year due to the rental crisis.
“I can’t believe I’ve been wasting my money on rent all this time. Life hack: If you’re hot, don’t ever pay rent,” she declared online back in June.

Ms Webb shared that she used the dating app Hinge to stay at different men’s houses when she felt the need to take a break from relying on friends.
“I’ve been on dating apps finding different guys’ places to stay with, and it is going surprisingly well. I don’t usually tell them. I don’t want to put pressure on anyone,” the model explained to news.com.au at the time.
“I don’t mention that I’m homeless and I don’t think I look homeless.”
She explained that a simple weekly schedule – staying with friends four times a week and going on dates about three times a week – seemed to work well.
If she sensed a “vibe” while out on the date, she’d wait for them to invite her to stay over and would typically say yes, as it gave her a place to stay for the night.
“I have so many friends on the Gold Coast, but I don’t want to overstay my welcome or be a burden, but I don’t mind being a burden to random men,” she said.
Ms Webb mentioned she was “saving so much” by doing this, but it wasn’t her long-term plan to depend on this system.
However, during that time, she loved seeing what men readily agreed to.
“I love pushing the boundaries of pretty privilege and seeing how far I can take it. You’re only single and hot once and I love taking advantage of it anywhere it can.”
Commenters weren’t convinced that her antics were particularly smart.
“This is a very dangerous game you’re playing …” said one, while another added, “Hope you’re okay. If you’re in Melbourne, you’re welcome to come and stay with me”.
“Go and get a job! You’re sending all the wrong messages to viewers, stop sponging off nice people!” a third wrote.
“Please be so safe out there,” another concluded.
