Controversial reality TV series FBoy Island Australia is set to return to screens in 2024.

The BINGE original series has been given the green light and will see three new single ladies look for love among a contestant pool mixed with Nice Guys and FBoys.

Casting is currently underway for the headline-making series, with host Abbie Chatfield returning for the new season.

“I am thrilled to be playing FBoy detective once again and returning to FBoy Island for another season,” she said in statement released this morning.

FBoy Island Australia flips traditional dating formats on its head and among all of jokes, laughter and questionable behaviour it’s a show that challenges gender dynamics and encourages men to be accountable for their bad behaviour.”

In a separate interview with the Daily Telegraph, Chatfield said she is happy to return as host as she stands by the messaging of the show.

“I think this show really gave a voice to a lot of people, particularly young women who have been f***ed around by Fboys and in myself or the contestants calling them out they felt vindicated and justified,” she told the outlet.

Alison Hurbert-Burns, Executive Director BINGE and Commissioning & Content Foxtel Group, is also stoked for Chatfield’s return.

“We’re thrilled to welcome back Abbie Chatfield as the host of FBoy Island Australia,” said Hurbert-Burns.

“Her sense of humour and fresh take on hosting made for fun television and there is no better person to help our three leading ladies navigate the modern dating world.”

Based on the successful US format, FBoy Island sees three women faced with choosing a partner from 24 suitors, half of which are FBoys and the other half Nice Guys who are genuinely in it for love and not the $50,000 cash prize.

Season 1 was filmed on northern NSW earlier this year with two of the women, occupational therapist Molly O’Halloran and model Ziara Rae, falling in love and still going strong with their chosen partners from the show: Nick Brown and Izaya Leota, respectively.

Sophie Blackley, who chose reformed FBoy Joshy Allen as her last man standing, sadly split from her chosen one shortly after the finale.

“To be fair on, on our end, I think jumping into something after such a short time [is hard], especially as we live interstate,” Blackley, a Melbourne-based DJ, told news.com.au after the split.

“I know Joshy is so business-focused and that’s what attracted me to him as well,” she added of the carpenter from NSW.

“He’s very dedicated and so am I. And you don’t wanna ruin the friendship, I don’t think, especially from such a short amount of time. I cherished that much more than jumping into something.”

BINGE invites single women and men across Australia to apply for Season 2 by heading to fboyislandcasting.com.au.
