Fans have given one singer a surprising lead to win The Voice

We love an underdog, and The Voice fans have rallied behind one finalist for what could be a clear victory in this Sunday’s grand final.

Jordan's emotional performance on The Voice (The Voice)

With the grand final ofThe Voice just around the corner, fans have rallied around their favourite singers in the tight race to the top.

According to online betting company Sportsbet, they’ve picked their favourite, with one singer inching in front of the pack in the betting odds.

Team Keith could claim a victory, with Sportsbet paying $2.50 if singer Thando Sikwila wins Sunday night’s grand final.

Melbourne P.E. teacher Lachie Gill – who was paying $1.75 just days after his semi-final rendition of Olivia Rodrigo’s Deja Vu - is now coming a close second, with Sportsbet offering odds of $2.75 for him to win.

Samoan powerhouse Jordan Tavita is now placing third in the odds, with Sportsbet paying $3 for a win from him.

Unfortunately the fans don’t have as much faith (I had to do it) in Coach Jessica Mauboy’s final pick Faith Sosene, who is paying $10.00, long odds to clinch victory.

This Sunday’s finale comes after contestant Jordan delivered a powerful semi-finals performance of the Foreigner classic I Want To Know What Love Is just days after a tragic family loss.

Jordan was visibly emotional during the showstopping song – which also brought tears to the coaches’ eyes – and dedicated it to his grandmother who died just two days earlier.

In an interview with PerthNow he said it was the “toughest week” he faced in the competition because of the loss and being separated from his family due to Covid regulations.

“The day of my semi-final performance was the day my family put her to rest and the fact that I wasn’t there, that hurt a lot … but I sang that for her. I could just see her screaming on the sidelines,” he told the outlet.

Although they are tight odds, Sportsbet has regularly listed the odds of who might win reality television shows, and has proven mighty successful at it, too. It has predicted multiple winners of The Bachelor, SAS Australia, The Masked Singer, and more.

That said, if you don’t like the prediction, there’s still time to show support for your favourite.

Public voting is open ahead of Sunday night’s grand final episode – which has already prerecorded four alternate endings, which has stirred some controversy among fans – with viewers’ votes promised to “entirely determine the winner” of The Voice 2022.

The Voice Finalists: Lachie Gill, Faith Sosene, Jordan Tavita, and Thando Sikwila.

The Voice grand finale airs from 7pm on Sunday, and voting closes about 8.20pm AEST.
