Celebs already at war on I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

THEY have only just entered the jungle, but Anthony Callea and Val Lahman already had bad blood from before I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

FIREWORKS are set to explode inside the I’m A Celebrity camp and the show has only just started.

News Corp can reveal two of the celebrity campmates didn’t like each other even before entering the South African jungle.

Veteran actor Val Lehman and singer Anthony Callea worked together on the Australian touring production of stage musical Grease.

“I didn’t like Anthony,” Lehman, 72, said before finding out Callea was one of her campmates.

Callea was a little more diplomatic about Lehman, world famous for playing Bea Smith in iconic TV show, Prisoner, in the late 70s and early 80s.

“Val is very set in her ways and she is an old-school performer and actor,” he said.

“I’ll be very surprised if she’s actually in there but I suppose many people could say that about me, that I’m set in my ways. If she is doing it, she will probably be doing it for the same reasons as me.”

Callea, 33, was a contestant on Australian Idol in 2004, placing second behind Casey Donovan.

“Some people will like me, some people might not but when you put yourself out there you have to take the good with the bad, that is part of it,” he said.

More generally, before finding out the identities of her fellow celebrity contestants, Lehman said she wouldn’t mind if she didn’t like someone.

“If I don’t like them and they turn up, that wouldn’t worry me because it would give me a chance to give them hell,” she said. “I’d like that. If they suddenly turned up in this situation, it would be a terrific opportunity to do some dreadful things to them.”

And she won’t mind stepping in if others don’t get on in the camp.

“It depends how much it affects me and if it affects the group, I will most certainly open my mouth. I’ve been asked if I’m a leader or a follower, I’m happy to be follower if people are leading well. But if they are not, I’ll say go away and I’ll do that.”

Any conflict aside, Lehman has quickly struck up an unlikely friendship with controversial AFL player Brendan Fevola.
