Sydney PR guru Roxy Jacenko takes to social media about Fiji fracas

She’s known for her loud voice and OTT hand gestures, but it seems not everyone is a fan of Roxy Jacenko’s quirks, with one couple asking the PR queen to be quiet while on holiday in Fiji.

Roxy Jacenko thought she was being fabulous. The diners around her in an exclusive Fiji resort thought differently.

Jacenko took to social media this week to express how upset she was after an encounter with a wealthy couple while on holiday in Fiji.

Saturday Confidential can reveal the couple in question was Graham Smorgon AM, a prominent Australian businessman and a member of the Smorgon family — one of Australia’s wealthiest and most powerful and influential families, who are said to be worth billions of dollars — and his wife Annette.

The PR guru, known and loved for her loud voice and animated way of talking, took to Instagram on Thursday to share the images of two fellow holiday makers who were staying in the same resort — Kokomo Private Island — as she and her mother Doreen, telling her 263,000 followers the couple had led her to depart the five-star resort early.

Saturday Confidential’s spies tell us the drama began with the usually unflappable Jacenko being told to “shhh” by the couple while asking another holiday-maker about their experience swimming with manta rays.

Jacenko then answered a video call from a young boy, believed to be her son, before she was shooshed again by the pair, prompting Jacenko to ask why they kept asking her to lower her voice.

What ensued, according to our onlooker, was a verbal fracas that we won’t repeat here, some of which Jacenko outlined in the now-deleted cryptic Instagram post.

Jacenko also didn’t hold back in her description of how the incident left her feeling, but since Saturday Confidential understands “legal reasons” might be why the post has been taken down, we won’t repeat the criticism here.

Saturday Confidential approached both Jacenko and Graham Smorgon for comment on Friday, however they did not return our calls or respond to texts.

While there is no suggestion that these episodes are in any way connected, Jacenko is well known for publicly calling out people with whom she has beef.

In 2019 the mother-of-two took to social media in 2019 to share CCTV footage of vandals who egged and spray-painted obscenities on the outside of her Sweaty Betty PR building, in an attempt to find the culprits.

Also in 2019, Jacenko posted a video of an alleged repeat offending “poo-jogger” dropping trou and evacuating her bowels outside her Sydney offices.

At that time she asked her hundreds of thousands of followers: “Do you know who this person is?”
