Yung Gravy enjoys a night out with ‘sweet’ Abbie Chatfield

Yung Gravy once declared he wanted to go on a date with Abbie Chatfield. Now the pair have made it a reality, catching up for drinks— and an icy pole— during his visit to Sydney.

When in Sydney, do as the locals do.

For American rapper Yung Gravy (Matthew Raymond Hauri), that was partying on a Chippendale rooftop, “scoop(ing) up some ladies,” and a sunset tour of Bondi Beach that turned into drinks with romantic interest Abbie Chatfield.

This is Gravy’s second Australian tour, which kicks off with a sold-out concert at Enmore Theatre on Thursday night, followed by an after-party at The Ivy.

“I’m up on the rooftop at The Old Clare, doing some work on my laptop,” Gravy told The Daily Telegraph of his Wednesday night.

“I have a good friend, Savage Realm, who’s in town on tour with Joji. So we linked up, and this disco party starts up there. It’s poppin’.

“I convinced my cameraman Nick to start turning up with me, and we ended up scooping up some ladies and going to Bondi Beach and had a great time.”

A video posted to the LA-based rapper’s Instagram Stories showed the musicians strolling the Bondi boardwalk with four young women (although Gravy is a self-proclaimed lover of mums).

Also there was radio host Abbie Chatfield, who Gravy had said he had “a bit of a relationship starting” with on the Kyle and Jackie O show in December.

Kyle Sandilands responded: “You and everyone else.”

At the time, Chatfield slammed Sandilands and his co-host Brittany Hockley after they “slut shamed” her.

Meanwhile, Gravy told The Brag Media that he “didn’t really like” the pair’s comments.

“I saw her at Bondi last night. She’s really sweet and cool,” he told The Daily Telegraph of their date on the terrace at Bondi’s Hotel Ravesis.

Chatfield also shared a video of the pair hanging out on her TikTok account, with the footage showing her and Gravy sharing an icy pole at a photoshoot.

“Finally had my date with Yung Gravy,” she captioned the clip.

On the rapper’s last visit to Sydney, he didn’t have the chance to get out and about.

“It was a day after a show in New Zealand, where I broke my hand crowd surfing at show,” he said.

“So I spent my whole time in hospital, and got let out 20 minutes before I was supposed to be on stage, and then back to the airport.”

He added that Bondi is “awesome and pretty”, but commented on the lack of night-life.

“It was wild that food was closing so early. It was 9.30pm and we were trying to find somewhere that was open,” Gravy said.

He is, however, a big fan of Aussie fashion, and made time to visit the Camilla and Ksubi offices on Thursday.
