SUNRISE stars found themselves in an awkward on-air conversation after Samantha Armytage and Natalie Barr “joked” about new-mum Amal Clooney’s post-baby body.
Armytage, 41, interrupted Angela Cox’s entertainment roundup this morning to comment on the A-lister’s parenting style before she took a jab at what she would look like now.
“As if Amal would yell,” she said on air today.
“Come on — I bet she’s already back to her pre-pregnancy weight today.”
Barr, 49, who is a mother of two, added: “By lunch time!”
But David Koch stopped the pair’s conversation, defending Amal, who gave birth to twins overnight — a boy and a girl.
“Now you girls. Give her a break,” he told them.
“You’re being nasty. No I think she’ll be a lovely mother.”
Barr was quick to defend her comments by interjecting, “We were joking,” as Armytage also quipped: “What’s wrong doctor Koch?”
“We were not being nasty,” Barr added.
“That’s got nothing to do with it. We were joking.”
George and Amal Clooney announced the birth of Ella and Alexander.
“This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days,” Clooney’s publicist said in a statement today.
