Heavily pregnant reality TV star Tracey Jewel has scrapped her plans to sue Channel 9 and Married at First Sight production company Endemol Shine Australia.

Jewel, who is 37 weeks pregnant, began exploring her legal options after claiming that her 2018 stint on the controversial dating show left her with severe mental health issues and a huge medical bill.

“I was debating it because my anxiety 100 per cent came from doing the show and the backlash,” Jewel told Confidential.

“It was only adding to my anxiety and at some point you have to draw a line in the sand and move forward with your life and I’m glad I did.

“A legal battle is a very long process and I thought my energy and time was better suited elsewhere.”

Jewel, 38, struggled with post-traumatic stress and anxiety disorder after appearing on the show, mostly stemming from the trolling she faced.

She was inspired by a 2019 landmark ruling which saw Channel 7 ordered to pay compensation to former House Rules contestant Nicole Prince.

At the time, Jewel was bombarded with offers from lawyers suggesting that she follow suit.

She said her focus is now on her family as she embarks on a new chapter in her life.

The season 5 MAFS contestant secretly married her high school sweetheart Nathan Constable last month and she is gearing up for the birth of their first child together.

Jewel has a 10-year-old daughter Grace from a previous relationship.

“I’m going to try for natural birth, my daughter was natural. I might be induced early because he is big,” she said.

“We have a few names picked out but it’s going to be hard to pick one until we meet him and see what he looks like. My daughter’s set on one particular name and she refuses to call him anything else, so she’s made her mind up. But for us, you have to meet him first to make that final decision.”

Jewel is also set to launch her new Upself Podcast on March 7.
