Why MAFS star Martha Kalifatidis refuses to hide reality TV past

While a number of reality TV stars are embarrassed by how they got their start in the industry, Martha Kalifatidis embraces it.

If we had a dollar for every reality TV star who requested we didn’t mention them having starred on the show they were a part of, we’d be loaded.

So it was refreshing to hear MAFS contestant Martha Kalifatidis own it this week.

“I did it so how can I not own it?, Kalifatidis, who just collaborated with Stylerunner said.

“There’s no denying it. There’s three months worth of footage of us, so yeah there’s no denying we did it.

“It was fun. I would never tell you to not bring up MAFS. It is what it is

“My Yia-yia reminds me everyday, “you did a malaka (something foolish in Greece) and look what happened. You did the stupidest thing and look what’s come of it.”

Kalifatidis and her on-screen ‘husband’ Michael Brunelli have since welcomed a son, Lucius, into the world and are one of only a few relationships which has survived.

While many reality TV contestants do everything in their power to hold on to their five seconds of fame, Kalifatidis and her partner have seen longevity in a notoriously competitive industry.

She attributes her enduring presence in the entertainment industry to her unfiltered approach to sharing her life with her audience.

By offering a candid glimpse into her personal experiences - embracing both the highs and the lows—she fosters a genuine connection with her followers

“What we show of our lives is candid,” she said. It is not composed and we are not trying to be people we’re not.

“We are authentic and I know everyone throws that word around, but if you look at our socials, we keep it real.

“I’m not trying to be a model. I’m just being myself and sharing it and I feel like if you do that, it doesn’t matter who you are, people will love it.

Kalifatidis’ latest project, a collaboration with Stylerunner, which includes 20-piece capsule collection, designed with her signature off-duty, elevated aesthetic.

“It just started it as a cute idea, we thought it would be so cool to work with them in this sort of capacity and we reached out to the team.

“We had a meeting and the rest is kind of history.

“It’s doing really well. It’s wearable stuff. It is super approachable, it’s not scary high fashion.

“They are pieces that you feel like you just want to live in.”
