Why Luke says being a Hemsworth has sometimes hindered his career in the US
BOTH of his brothers are a force to be reckoned with at the Hollywood box office, so you’d think having the Hemsworth surname would do nothing but benefit actor and big brother Luke Hemsworth.
BOTH of his brothers are a force to be reckoned with at the Hollywood box office, so you’d think having the Hemsworth surname would do nothing but benefit actor and big brother Luke Hemsworth.
Apparently it’s not entirely the case.
When Confidential asked the 33-year-old whether the fact his brother’s Chris and Liam had made their mark in the US has helped or hindered his career he said: “Probably a bit of both.
“Obviously some doors open but also there is a certain expectation which comes with that.
“I just need to make sure I am on the top of my game and do the right things for me.”
And while the actor is the first to admit he gets advice from Chris who plays Thor in Disney’s The Avengers and Liam who stars as Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games,
he jokingly said he does his best to “misdirect” his famous brothers.
“I’ve definitely got some good advice from them and I try to misdirect them at every chance I get,” he said.
Luke, who obviously shares a strong resemblance to his famous siblings, also revealed he has recently upgraded from a tiny two bedroom apartment in Santa Monica to a $5 million house in Miami which his brother Chris bought off Paul Hogan.
“I live Malibu at the moment,” he said.
“I’ve gone from living in a two bedroom in Santa Monica to a nice house in Malbibu which is actually Chris’s house.
“I’ll take that thanks bro.”
After years of soap stardom in Australia, Luke is beginning to crack Hollywood.
He Is just about to start shooting a HBO show called Westworld, based on an old film with Yul Brynner and directed and written by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan.
“I’m just about to start filming West world.
“It stars Tony Hopkins and James Marsden.”
