James ‘Teddy’ Tedesco is more than comfortable on the footy field – less so on the beach in his togs.
The Roosters rugby league player said he loved to wear Budgy Smugglers for a swim, but once out of the water he prefers to chuck on a pair of boardies to walk around.
But Teddy did this one for Ted.
He was the star guest as streaming service BINGE unveiled a special limited edition TED Budgy Smugglers collaboration at North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club on Thursday.
“I like to swim in them but walking around leisurely, not so much, I cover up as much as possible,” Tedesco told Confidential.
“It is good fun. I am a bit uncomfortable in these Budgys for too long, but it is good fun to see everyone come down to be a part of it.”
Hundreds of punters flocked to the pop-up event to score a free pair of the cheeky cozzies by trying their luck at the TED dunk tank.
Ted is available to stream now on BINGE and is based on the original Seth MacFarlane movies starring Mark Wahlberg.
The TV adaptation was launched on the platform on January 11, 12 years after the original live-action film premiered starring Wahlberg as John Bennett, who is best friends with the talking bear from his childhood, voiced by MacFarlane.
The series is a prequel to the films and is set in 1993 with John (played by Max Burkholder) and Ted living back home in Massachusetts and navigating high school.
MacFarlane is back on board as writer, executive producer and director, and he also returns as the voice of Ted in the seven-episode special.
“I loved the movies so I was always going to be keen to watch the TV show,” the rugby league star said.
“I am a big Seth MacFarlane fan from The Family Guy so it is just the humour, that is the main part and why I love it.”
It also works well with Tedesco’s nickname.
“Ted, Teddy, it works well.”
