Nine years after finding her forever love on The Bachelor, Anna Heinrich is giving up her career as a lawyer.

The 35-year-old, who rose to national fame on the reality dating show with now husband Tim Robards, is focusing on her own beauty business venture after realising life as a criminal lawyer wasn’t for her.

“I have stopped practising, I didn’t renew my practising certificate this year,” Heinrich told The Daily Telegraph.

“I thought I was going to go back after having (daughter) Elle, all my intentions were to go back but I was only doing one day a week. It was a nice distraction from everything else I was doing but it just got too hard and I wasn’t passionate about it. I was doing it more to feel like I still had that career.”

She added: “I am way more happy now that I am not doing it and it was more to prove to people that I could do it myself.”

Heinrich and business partner Christie Whitehill have launched beauty supplements brand, INTU WELLNESS.

With daughter Elle now 15 months, Heinrich is very much focused on the launch and expansion of the brand with the first product being a Sleep and Skin Renewal ingestible.

It is a bold move she feels she wouldn’t have been able to make before.

“I feel like I didn’t have the confidence to do this before because I was like, ‘why would someone buy something that I have created?’” Heinrich explained. “I always had that mentality. It has taken me a long time to find something that I can actually help people … something important. If I can help people get a good night’s sleep, I feel like I am doing something good as opposed to just selling something for the fun of it.”

After finishing Year 12 in 2004, Heinrich undertook an arts degree at Sydney University before finishing a post graduate law degree at the University of Technology.

The SAS Australia contestant detailed the immense pressure she felt to keep up appearances with her legal career before making the ultimate decision to put it on hold.

“I loved being able to say I was a lawyer because I felt people looked at me with a bit of credibility. It is scary but I am excited as well,” she said. “I think people look at you differently when say you are a lawyer. As soon as I say I’ve stopped practising law, I feel like I should be ashamed of that because I always put that as the pinnacle when it is actually not.”
