What Tim Robards and Beau Ryan have in common
One’s a chiropractor and one’s a sports star — but they share a philosophy that has seen them head on new career trajectories.

Having a crack and stepping outside their comfort zones has paid off for Tim Robards and Beau Ryan.
They have transitioned from one successful career to another by simply “having a go”.
“Growing up you are conditioned to thinking you go to university and become a thing and for me that was a chiropractor,” former Bachelor star Robards explained.
“I guess I had more belief in myself over time and always wanted to do more so I pushed myself.”
Robards, 37, still works part-time as a chiropractor but recently took on a full-time job as an actor playing Pierce Greyson on Neighbours.
“I crap myself most days and every day I go to work I have butterflies in my stomach,” he said.
“It is about having belief in yourself. Most people don’t try things. I am not the best actor. I am not the best chiropractor or exercise guy but I am giving it a go.
“If people backed themselves a bit more, they would probably find themselves doing more of what they want in life.”
Ryan, 34, played for West Tigers and the Cronulla Sharks but since quitting the sport has worked in radio with KIIS FM and on TV with Channel 10.
“Sports is my identity I guess but with all the different things I’ve done, I feel I’ve been very fortunate,” Ryan said. “I still enjoy it today as much as when I first started.”
