Fairy Bread, Tim Tams, Violet Crumble’s and Eucalyptus lollies, American superstar Sabrina Carpenter has discovered many of the sweet treats Australia has to offer.
Vegemite though is not on her hit list.
“You don’t understand the passion I have for Tim Tams,” Carpenter said.
“I was gifted by my friend these Eucalyptus lemon drops that were really good.”
Carpenter, 24, spoke to The Daily Telegraph to promote her Chemist Warehouse fragrance Sweet Tooth ahead of flying to Singapore for the next leg of supporting Taylor Swift on her Eras world tour.
The former Disney star has lapped up the connection with her Aussie fans. She won’t however be trying iconic yeasty spread, Vegemite, any time soon, if ever.
“I have smelt it and the second I did that, I have given up,” she said. “That is something I don’t think I am strong enough to do. I’ve tried Fairy Bread and that was really good but yeah, I am just genuinely a bit terrified of the Vegemite.”
Carpenter chatted excitedly about Sweet Tooth, sounding genuinely shocked her fragrance had sold out instantly when it was released in January.
“To be so far away from home and to have the kind of support that I have here just makes me want to give the world back to everybody that has supported me,” she said.
“I also think what is so cool about the fragrance is that you genuinely don’t have to know me or anything about me to enjoy the way that it feels, the way that it smells, the way that it lasts.”
Of touring with Swift, Carpenter – who has nearly 33 million Instagram followers – said: “I will never forget these shows for the rest of my life.”
“This is the first time I have ever properly performed on any stage in Australia, let alone it being a stage as magnificent and as special as Taylor has allowed me to be on is a very big dream come true.
“I also just love Australians so I’ve felt very at home and I can’t wait to come back.”
Carpenter has gigs booked through until June, including Coachella Music Festival in April.
She is hoping though to make it back to Australia as soon as possible.
“You can bet on sooner than later,” she said. “I don’t have exact dates, which always makes my fans roll their eyes but I am working very hard on it now.”
