CODY Simpson has opened up about his recent split with Sports Illustrated model Gigi Hadid.

The 17-year-old dished to People magazine that the pair are still friends.

“I definitely don’t imagine it being over for good,” Simpson said.

“We’re still really good friends and we chat. We just had to slow it down.”

The pair split in early May with a rep at the time, confirming the news.

They had dated for a year and flaunted their young love on social media.

Hadid, 19, also recently starred in Simpson’s Surfboard video clip which made its debut in April, just before the breakup.

Simpson, whose profile in the US is on the rise after appearing on the US version of Danicing With The Stars, was linked to Kylie Jenner before meeting Hadid.
