The infamous ex-wife of crime figure Carl Williams announced the new arrival to the family on social media.
“I can finally scream it to the world that my amazing daughter Danielle and son-in-law Sanar Ghanim gave me the honour and privilege of a lifetime, being a grand parent to a beautiful grand daughter that Dan and San named Santana,” Williams wrote on Facebook.
“I never imagined I could love anything as much as I love my own children but I realised when Danielle put her in my arms that I could. I am so in love with this precious little girl who has already got the whole family wrapped around her tiny weeny precious little finger.”
Baby Santana was born in Melbourne at 1.03pm on December 29. Danielle is Williams daughter from her previous marriage to Dean Stephens, who was a close associate of the Moran crime family.
Last month, Williams son-in-law Sanar Ghanim was jailed at the Melbourne Supreme Court for at least 17 months for reckless conduct endangering life over the street shooting of violent standover man Serkan Kala.
Ghanim’s co-accused Tugay ‘TJ’ Afacan was sentenced to at least three years in prison for intentionally causing serious injury.
Williams’ has two other children with Stephens — daughter Breanane and son Tye.
Dhakota is her daughter to Carl Williams — who was beaten to death in Barwon Prison in 2010 — and she has a young son, Giuseppe, with current partner, Rob.
“Danielle and Sanar you have made me complete,” Williams continued on Facebook. “Santana was the final piece of the puzzle. Little Princess you are my world, you are my everything but most of all I am honoured to say you are my grand daughter.”
Williams praised daughter Danielle at how she’s taken on motherhood.
“Danielle you did an amazing job, now to watch you be a mumma truly takes my breath away as you are just a natural. You have settled into being a mumma like you’ve done it your whole life. Nothing on this earth is enough to express my gratitude for how grateful I am for you both giving me this truly adorable tiny little life to love, spoil and adore. Most of all I cannot believe she is ours forever.”
Williams was famously portrayed by actor Kat Stewart in the critically acclaimed Underbelly TV series of 2008.
There’s also renewed suggestion Williams will star in an Australian version of American reality series, Mob Wives, although representative Steven Gold Management would not comment on that project.
In November, 2014, Williams said she wants a better life for her children.
“I don’t want my children to follow in my footsteps, hence the reason why I have tried to give them that private school education, the things I didn’t have in life, the mum that is there if they need someone to talk to. I want to be mum that they can turn to.”
While admitting she’s unlikely to shake off her criminal past, she has said the public perception of her life is very different to the reality.
“People see me as a hard-arse person,” she said. “People don’t have the right perspective of me in that regard and that shatters me a little because I feel I was put on this earth to be a mum, that is a job I take very seriously and I look after my kids very well and treat them with the respect they deserve.”
