A high profile Sydney celebrity nearly caught a ride with a controversial paparazzo, who was previously embroiled in a legal battle with Nicole Kidman, before deciding it was too much of a “risk.”

One Sydney celebrity found themselves in an awkward predicament ordering an Uber this week.

The high profile TV host booked a ride and promptly cancelled after the driver profile popped up as controversial paparazzo Jamie Fawcett.

“We’ve all got to make a buck somehow,” the famous face said. “But I wasn’t going to risk it so opted for a taxi.”

It seems Fawcett has been making some extra coin between snapping celebs for magazine exclusives driving an Uber for the past two months.

He has a good rating too of 4.94 from 669 trips and Confidential can’t help but wonder if he’s hoping for Karl Stefanovic to book a ride.

“I would be happy to take Karl when he rejoins the Today show,” Fawcett told Confidential.

Fawcett is of course one of Australia’s highest profile paparazzi photographers and often crossed over to become the story with big names calling him out for various reasons.

He was famously embroiled in a legal battle with Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman and an incident with Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden while he was shooting The Voice in Sydney.

Former Spice Girl Mel B also previously applied for an apprehended violence order (AVO) against Fawcett and American pop singer Katy Perry unleashed on him on Twitter claiming to have photographs of his genitalia.

That was during Perry’s Prismatic tour in 2014 when she was enjoying time out at Sydney’s Obelisk beach.

“Your paparazzi have no respect, no integrity, no character. NO HUMANITY,” she wrote, also singling out three other photographers who she claimed offered to leave her alone if she posed in her swimsuit.

“This is PERVERTED & disgusting behaviour that should NEVER be tolerated, especially by people who do NOT want this,” she wrote.
