The Kid Laroi has made good after a cancelled meet and greet in Sydney.
The chart topping Aussie singer went above and beyond for around 100 fans that had paid $800 for some one-on-one time with him at the VIP experience after his concert at CommBank Stadium on November 16.
On Wednesday, the Stay singer flew from Adelaide to meet those that missed out at the Flight Risk Mascot warehouse space before jumping back on a plane for his next gig in Hobart last night.
“I just want to say sorry that we had to reschedule this, there was a lot going on,” he told the elated fans, many crying with excitement.
“Thank you guys so much for coming back, I really do appreciate you guys.”
Fans were treated to brunch, coffee and refreshments as Laroi spent around an hour with them. They were also gifted a signed poster of the singer.
Laroi will play Melbourne shows Friday and Saturday to finish the run of Australian shows with his next scheduled gig New York’s Madison Square Garden on December 13.
Siblings Elise and Imogen Abela, aged 17 and 14, broke down as they came face-to-face with their music idol.
“It just feels so special that Laroi has taken the time to do this for us,” Abela said.
“I was absolutely devastated like everyone else was but the fact that he has done this for us, I literally want to cry. I love him so much.”
Paxton Beeby, 24, caught the train to Sydney from Newcastle for the experience.
“I am so blessed and grateful that I am here,” she said, explaining that the singers “music saved me”.
“It is a great opportunity … I am speechless.”
Austin Jones, 19, of Menai said: “When I listen to his music, I feel like it has changed a bit of me. I turned into a lot more positive a person, his music has also shown me more of a social life, I became a lot more social and I came out of a hole.”
Narellan hairdresser Step Austin, 23, was disappointed the original meet and greet was cancelled but believes things turned out as they were meant to.
“Those things happen and I think that it happened so that we could all get to enjoy this amazing experience together in an intimate setting,” she said.
“He is so connected to his fans, he is just real and down to earth, he talks about all of the issues that we as fans experience as well. I think that makes us feel seen and in turn we see him as well.”
After meeting the fans, Laroi told The Daily Telegraph the experience was “really awesome”.
“I am happy I got to stop over, even if it was just for a little bit,” he said.
“I am excited I could get to come and meet everybody and I’m excited to be home.”
