2019's must-see Aussie reality TV shows

Out with the old and in with the new.

Network Ten, home to the rebooted Dancing With The Stars, has unveiled its fresh judging panel.

Moving into the hot seats occupied by Todd McKenney, Helen Richey and Kym Wilson when the show was on Channel 7, are Craig Revel Horwood, Sharna Burgess and Tristan MacManus. And while they might not be household names, they’re dancing royalty both in Australia and overseas.

Australian-born, British-based choreographer Horwood is expected to be the tough McKenney of the group, with the theatre director promising to “watch every move”.

“There is no hiding bad technique or poor posture on my watch,” said Horwood, a member of the original Strictly Come Dancing judging panel in the UK.

“I expect nothing less than perfection. And while these celebrities might be famous in their own right, the dance floor is my domain so they better be ready to rumba.”

Handsome Irishman MacManus — a former competitive dancer who is married to Shire babe Tahyna Tozzi and has worked on dancing shows all around the world — promised to be fair with his verdicts.

“If you are going to say something mean, there has to be something constructive as well,” he said

Despite being married to a member of the high-profile Tozzi family and having lived in Australia for a number of years, MacManus is nervous about being in the spotlight.

“But what I figure is I don’t have anything to hide. I am excited to do this. I have a family I have to look after and that is the most important thing, so if a new-found attention comes with it, so be it.”

Burgess, who hails from Wagga Wagga, competed in 12 seasons of Dancing With The Stars in the US.
