Outspoken pop duo The Veronicas took a swipe at Celebrity Apprentice at their Queensland concert on Saturday night.
As live shows make a slow return during the Covid-19 pandemic, twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliasso kicked off their Godzilla V Human tour in Brisbane last week.
The pair performed their 2007 song Revenge Is Sweeter (Than You Ever Were), which they dedicated to Channel 9’s Celebrity Apprentice amid controversy over their portrayal on the reality show.
“I would probably try and dedicate it to Qantas Airlines and talk some sh** on that but guess what? We have a new enemy. So this one goes out to Celebrity Apprentice [inaudible],” Lisa said, drawing cheers from the audience.
In 2019, The Veronicas made headlines after claiming the Qantas flight attendant who argued with Black Eyed Peas rapper will.i.am during a mid-air exchange was the same woman who they once clashed with before they were escorted off a flight by police.
Last week, the ARIA award-winning artists were embroiled in another controversy after accusing producers of Celebrity Apprentice of portraying them as “manipulative” and “entitled brats” on the show.
The sisters have been at the centre of drama after a series of incidents on the show, including a clash with their co-star, fashion icon Camilla Franks, during a recent episode.
In an open letter addressed to “the crew and production” on Wednesday, they vented their frustration.
“ … You signed us up for your show under the guise of charity and heart,” they wrote in a statement.
“Our genuine intentions and passion reduced to an edit – portraying us strong arming other team members and outwardly using our mother’s condition for sympathy and manipulative tactics is disgusting
“What you have done to us is gut wrenching, soul destroying and the lowest thing you could ever do to us as women, daughters and carers … You have used us at the most fragile time in our lives.”
.@CelebApprentice the fact you edited out all the facts, so we become entitled brats - expecting favours and using our mums condition for benefit is truly the lowest you could have gone.

I hope you pay your editors well for the souls they sell.
The fact they have edited this to seem like emotional manipulation and blackmailing people for sympathy is awful. Being gaslit on an edit over something so close to our hearts is truly beyond comprehension. We are grateful there was money made for all the charities involved.

In separate tweets, the pair claimed they were “gaslit” by producers.
Confidential has contacted Channel 9 for comment.
The sisters are on the show to raise money for The Brain Foundation, which funds research into neurological disorders, brain disease and brain injuries.
Their mother Colleen, 73, was previously diagnosed with Lewy body dementia which forced them to move back home to Queensland from Los Angeles to help care for her.
