The producers of The Masked Singer Australia went to extreme lengths to keep the identity of the participating celebrities a secret.
In the bonkers show which starts on Channel 10 next Monday, 12 celebrities will perform while hidden beneath bizarre disguises.
It’s then up to Lindsay Lohan, Dannii Minogue, Jackie O and Dave Hughes to take a handful of clues and watch the performances and try and work out who the stars are.
The series was filmed a couple of months ago at Fox Studios in Sydney and the production company hired some of Australia’s top security experts to help keep the masked singers a secret.
“The level of secrecy around this show is extraordinary,” Osher Gunsberg, who hosts the show, said on Kyle and Jackie O this morning.
“We used the same guys that help us out on some other shows. They’re like ex-ASIO (Australian Security Intelligence Organisation) or something like that.
“They’re like, ‘We’ve got to clear the studio because we’re going to sweep it for devices.’ And they’re not joking, they’re literally going to sweep the studio for devices.”
The security team even used decoys when they were escorting the celebrities in and out of the studio.
“They’ve got like a hood over them and a little sign that says, ‘Don’t talk to me,’” Jackie O revealed. “But there’s replicas of those people and decoys going off in every direction. There were photographers following them to try and do a spoiler.

“The lengths they’ve got too … I spoke to one of the security guys who said he’s worked with prime ministers but he said that this was next level. He’s never been involved in anything when the security was this ridiculously high,” the KIIS FM host said.
For the past few weeks Channel 10 has been releasing a series of clues about the identities of the masked singers.
So far we know there’s an ARIA winner, an MTV Award winner, a Logie winner, a World Cup winner and even an Order of Australia winner.
“Everyone’s famous, like famous famous,” Gunsberg said about the contestants on radio this morning. “Some of these people need their own door at the airport they’re that famous. They aren’t all singers but they can all sing.”
Here are some of the individual clues.
The Unicorn — Clue: “I have been the princess but never the queen.”
The Lion — Clue: “As a young Lion, I entered a competition that would change everything.”
The Wolf — Clue: “I’m not the big bad wolf, but I ain’t little green riding hood either.”
