THERE’S nowhere on earth that is more glamorous than the Maldives but radio host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald found out the luxury resort he’s heading to is actually a dump.
Notorious for stitching each other up, Fitzy’s Nova 96.9 co-star Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli enlisted the help of The Daily Telegraph to ruin his holiday before he’d even left our shores.

Opening the newspaper today, Fitzy was shocked to see a story detailing the luxury resort he’d booked had been “voted the world’s worst”.
“The exclusive (resort name) which advertises villas priced at more than $1000 a night, has been voted the worst luxury hotel in the world ... following hundreds of negative reviews made by guests whose complaints varied from dirty sheets and rooms, to unpalatable food, rude staff, polluted water and broken airconditioning,” the fake story read.
Fitzy, who is planning the trip for his 10th wedding anniversary, swore as he read the pretend article, that had been inserted into a normal newspaper.
His colleagues inserted the page into about 10 newspapers in the office.
“That is we’re I’m staying,” Fitzy told his colleagues. “Is this f***ing serious? Is that in the paper today?”
It didn’t take him long to work out the stitch up though as the fake news page was printed on different paper than the actual Telegraph.
