A VIP caterer, who has prepared food for the likes of Delta Goodrem and Roxy Jacenko, Alex Cadger has opened his first bricks and mortar restaurant and function centre.
Cadger, aka The Blonde Butler, has opened up The Butler’s Pantry, a modern 200-seat cafe/restaurant, and The Lakehouse, a 200 person function centre in Redbank Village, in the Hawkesbury region.
The venues, which have been open for six weeks, are situated on an old dairy farm and mark the next transition for Cadger who started his career in marketing.
“I started the company with me just cooking for dinner parties of four after work,” Cadger said.
“I would chop onions for hours in my Mums kitchen … now we employ 80 people.”
Cadger said a venue was always on the cards for the business.
“I’ve got nine years of knowledge of how to create the perfect event, why not expand and let people come to us for functions.”
Cadger said his work with Sydney’s A-list, from Real Housewives star Victoria Montano to events for Louis Vuitton and Polo Ralph Lauren, has helped him create a brand that makes people want to experience.
“Aspiration is part of the brand. I’m really proud we spent years cementing ourselves as the go to it catering company to have function … being out in the restaurant, how powerful brand is. People walking up saying, “can’t believe you’ve come here!”
Cadger, who is from Penrith, said it was important to him to find a location in a unique spot.
The menu features everything from all-day breakfast favourites like sweet corn fritters with cured salmon to chilli crab spaghetti with blistered tomatoes, burnt butter & pangratatto.
The function centre is already been booked for birthdays and weddings.
“We’ve had everyone walking through saying ‘dying for something like this out here’,” Cadger said.
“There is not a lot of competition. If I did build in Rose Bay, they are spoiled for choice for a lunch with a nice wine. You can get that anywhere.”
This is the first of multiple venues on the cards for Cadger.
