TASMA Walton has revealed she had introduced her now-husband Rove McManus to his late wife Belinda Emmet.

TASMA Walton has revealed she had introduced her now-husband Rove McManus to his late wife Belinda Emmet.

Walton admits to New Idea that she was playing Cupid when she introduced the pair in 1999.

“We were all at a Fox Studios opening (in Sydney) and I had obviously worked with Rove on his show, (and) worked with Belinda, (and I) thought they would be an interesting couple and introduced them,” she told the glossy mag.

After actress and singer Emmet died in 2006 of cancer, Walton and McManus eventually fell in love.

Walton, 41, proposed to McManus in 2009 after he arrived home from an overseas trip.

“I’d done this little painting that said ‘Marry me?’ on it and he said, ‘You’ve got to ask me properly’ and I was like ‘I can’t, I can’t, just marry me would ya!’ she told Show + Tell’s Monty Diamond last December.

“It was really, really unromantic.”

Now, Walton says she is in love with McManus but admits “parenthood tests a relationship in ways that you can’t possibly imagine.”

The couple have one daughter Ruby.

“I knew on a very deep level that this was a man I could spend the rest of my life with and decided that I might as well bite the bullet and ask him (to marry me),” she said.

“I certainly wouldn’t have asked him if I didn’t think I’d get a positive answer.”

McManus and Walton tied the knot in Broome, WA in 2009 in a secret wedding ceremony.
