There’s a hot new eligible bachelor in town.

Luca Catalano, the young genetically blessed son of Antony “The Cat” Catalano, whose family owns Raes on Wategos, has returned from overseas and is basing himself in Sydney and Byron Bay.

And Sydney’s singletons are clamouring to spend time with him.

Despite only being in his early 20s, Luca has been seen hanging out with the Sydney social set now known as the “40yr plus crew”, which includes Julian Tobias, David Freeman, James Bart, DJ Richy Penny and Adam Abrams.

It’s been a decade since Tobias, Freeman and Abrams held the mantle of being eligible bachelors, with many marrying and settling down with kids.

According to those who know Luca, “he’s a smart kid who studied and lived in LA for eight-plus years and now he’s home forging his own path in the funds management world”.

“He is also a director of family regional media business ACM where he heads up new business development and growth strategies,” a source said.

“He also runs other entrepreneurial ventures like Airbnb arbitrage in Byron Bay and social media marketing.

“Luca saw early success with the Magellan options play which made $17.8m and is now working to back it up.

“He played a key role in securing $600m-plus for Magellan global fund shareholders and also the highly publicised options play, which paid up to $100m to option holders which includes himself.”

Clearly living by the motto “work hard, play hard”, his social media page reveals the twenty-something is “living large” on private jets, super yachts and diving luxury cars.

When not working, he spends the rest of his time at lavish parties alongside leggy models.

Antony is a former journalist who built real estate website Domain into a digital powerhouse, before departing to launch Metro Media Publishing.

He has nine children and is married to Stefanie Catalano.

“She was passionately making out with this silver fox outside Harris Farm Rose Bay,” one onlooker said.

“She wasn’t being very secretive about it. They were very passionate so it is likely her new boyfriend.”

Since splitting from Shepherd, Broadhurst, who is besties with Pip Edwards, Kristin Fisher, Bernadette Fahey and Justin Hemmes’ model girlfriend Madeline Holtznagel, has been linked to a number of men including Benjamin.

Benjamin was previously in a professional and romantic relationship with Potts Point jeweller Chrissi James.

Another one of Sydney’s most eligible bachelors marked a milestone this weekend, with Johnny Keith celebrating his 40th birthday on Friday night.

Among those who attended the star-studded party were sisters Alyce and Caroline Tran, socialite Montarna Pitt, designer Michael Lo Sordo and Hamilton Island heiress Nicky Oatley.

Noticeably absent were the O’Neil clan, whose patriarch Denis O’Neil is best friends with Johnny’s dad.

However, the O’Neils were busy sunning themselves on the private Fijian island of Kokomo.

Ned and Deborah Symond O’Neil are holidaying there with their children and brother Jake and his wife Lou, who recently welcomed their first son, Otis.

SNOW BUSINESS AS USUAL AT ASPEN

It looks as if it has been a record season for Aussies in Aspen this month.

Those holidaying in the US destination known and loved by the rich and famous claim they can’t walk 10m without spotting an eastern suburbs resident meandering the streets in their stylish winter attire.

Fashion designer Rebecca Vallance and husband David Gasan, Real Housewives of Sydney cast members Victoria Montano and Terry Biviano, newly-divorced Amy Hyder, socialites Angelique Andrews, Alina Barlow, Maree Andrews, Barbara Coombes and Harriet Waugh and her husband Mitchell are among the wealthy people who have descended on the world’s most expensive ski-resort town during January.

“It’s like Transvaal Ave, Double Bay, here at the moment,” one insider said.

Most of the holiday-makers were in town for Charlie Graham and his wife Wally’s joint 50th birthdays.

The couple, labelled by those close to them as two of the nicest people you will ever meet, threw a three-day extravaganza in Aspen, in the US state of Colorado, that comprised a number of themed events.

Graham is the son of funds management firm Gresham Partners managing director James Graham.
