SYDNEY indie rockers Gang Of Youths have notched up their first No.1 album.
Signed to Sony Music, the band’s new studio album, Go Farther In Lightness, topped this week’s ARIA Album Chart, knocking Paul Kelly from the position.
“This a strange and wonderful moment for us,” the group’s Davd Le’aupepe told Confidential.
Gang Of Youths’ first album, The Positions, peaked at No.5 on the chart when it was released in 2015 while 2016 EP, Let Me Be Clear, made it to No.2.
It is a month of firsts on the charts after veteran Kelly scored his first No. 1 album last week, dethroning Ed Sheeran with his new release, Life Is Fine.
Meanwhile, American pop star Pink has held her spot on top of the singles chart with her comeback single, What About Us, ahead of Justin Bieber’s new track, Friends.
