Thanks to the success of his new restaurant Luc-San in Potts Point, Sydney hospitality icon Luke Mangan is opening up another outpost in the CBD.

The industry leader is set to turn the bar at the front of Luke’s Kitchen, which is inside the Margot Kimpton Hotel, into Bar Luc-San.

The bar will offer select dishes from his Japanese-French inspired restaurant like the Brioche Bread Roll, Honey Garlic, Shiro Koji butter and Robarta Grilled fish along with cocktails like the Yuzu and Chilli Margarita or French 75.

“Luc-San has turned into a great little dining hub and we wanted to bring that to the front of Luke’s Kitchen, which is an area we’ve been using as overflow,” Mangan told The Daily Telegraph.

“It’s a casual, fun vibe.”

Mangan said the success of Luc-San is due to more “casual” nature of the restaurant.

“It’s also price point savvy and it’s a point of difference. When we opened in September no one was doing French/Japanese cuisine.”

Mangan adds despite recent reports of restaurant closures across the industry, there is still plenty of good news.

His now permanent restaurant on top of Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon, Luke’s Table, sold out for Vivid.

Despite the cost of living crisis, Luke Mangan said there is still demand for good hospitality experiences.

“There is still demand for good restaurants and experiences,” he says.

“As I tell my staff, the doors aren’t closing. We stay focused and confident and know we’ve been through worse like the Global Financial Crisis.”

Set to open next week, Bar Luc-San, like it’s sister restaurant in Potts Point will offer a Bottomless Sunday Lunch for $95pp which includes a seven course feast and a 1.5 hours of an unlimited selection of wine and beer.
