Australian celebrities and the biggest names in sport, politics and entertainment are heading to Melbourne in droves ahead of the AFL’s biggest event of the year.

As the Swans prepare to face off against the Brisbane Lions, Sydney’s celebrity set are coming out in full force for the 2.30pm kick off.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese; Opposition Leader Peter Dutton; muso Tones and I; TV personality Deborah Hutton and boyfriend Andrew Marsh; Seven stars Matt Shirvington, Natalie Barr, Mark Ferguson, David Koch, Matt Doran, Mark Beretta, and Mel McLaughlin; Nine’s Sophie Claire Walsh, Richard Wilkins and his new girlfriend make-up artist Mia Hawkswell; Melbourne breakfast radio personality Lauren Phillips; and The Wiggles favourites Simon Pryce and Lachy Gillespie are all in Melbourne ahead of the hugely anticipated clash.

Popular Wiggle’s members Pryce and Gillespie revealed they bat for differing teams, with Pryce sharing an image of himself dressed in red and white, alongside Gillespie could be seen wearing a Lion’s jersey.

“SIMON SAYS Go the Swans. It’s a big day in Wiggletown,” wrote Pryce.

While Gillespie said, “State vs Sate … Mate vs Mate … But seriously … GO THE LIONS.”

Hutton and her partner were loud and proud in red and white in an instgram post, which she captioned, “On the road to glory.”

The Sydney Swans thanked Hutton for her support, to which she responded, “wouldn’t miss this for the world! Happy to drive the Cup back to Swans HQ if you like.”

Wilkins shared a video from inside his flight, which he captioned, “Go You Swannies … just truckin in another coupla hundred fans.”

Other diehard celebrity Swans supporters include Chris Hemsworth, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Lleyton Hewitt, Delta Goodrem — however it’s believed none of these A-listers will make it to the hugely anticipated grand final.

One big name who won’t be attending the event, or supporting his local team, is media personality Andy Lee, who this week revealed he would be cheering on the Lions, after finding out his fiance Rebecca Harding had previously “hooked up” with one of the Swans stars.

“I’m going for the Lions because I like it when the team that knocked mine goes on to win it,” he said of the Lions victory over Carlton that took them to the grand final, while on B105 Breakfast.

“It makes it feel like you came second. And the other reason is that Bec hooked up with Dane Rampe who plays for the Sydney Swans at schoolies. Although it was like 15 years ago, there’s got to be a natural vendetta against that Sydney back line.”

Aussie vocal powerhouse Tina Arena is set to perform this afternoon, alongside global pop star Katy Perry.

The national icon, 56, is believed to be the AFL’s special guest during pre-game, halftime or post-match entertainment.

While Australian singer, actor and athlete Cody Simpson, multi-ARIA Award winning artist Christine Anu, her daughter Zipporah Corser-Anu, and Mike Brady AM have also all joined the line-up.

Christine Anu and Zipporah Corser-Anu will perform together for the First Nations ceremony with the Songlines Youth Choir.

Mike Brady will perform ‘Up There Cazaly’ as part of the longstanding Toyota AFL retiree motorcade on grand final day.
