Family and friends have remembered Sydney actor Francis Mossman after his untimely death.
The 33-year-old, who was known as Frankie, took his life at the weekend.
“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Francis Mossman,” a statement read.
“Francis was overwhelmingly kind, enthusiastic and so very caring, making a positive impact on the lives of many who knew him.
“He had the most infectious smile along with the most brilliant sense of humour imaginable.
“He was forever a big kid and with that he had the warmest most generous loving heart that lit up wherever he went. Forever he will be loved dearly and equally missed.”
Mossman is survived by his partner, Lachlan, their dogs Mulder, Scully and Piper, his parents May and Reginald and brothers Jeremy and Laurence.
He was a massive fan of Gillian Anderson, who played FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in hit US TV series, The X Files.
Mossman was best known for his starring role in hit international web series The Horizon and also appeared in Kiwi soap Shortland Street and TV drama Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
He studied performing arts at the University of Auckland and was also a qualified personal trainer.
“Recently, Francis had been struggling with the resurfacing of old scars and trauma from high school, which he acknowledged in his last post to the world was a pain he had endured from a young age,” the family statement continued.
“The world we face right now is a weight on many shoulders, including those in the arts who have had their livelihoods heavily impacted by Covid lockdowns.”
Horizon co-stars Patrick James and Jai Rodriguez were among those to pay tribute to Mossman’s life after his passing, as well as Courtney Act, former Home and Away star Kyle Pryor and Neighbours actor Takaya Honda.
“Rip mate, I’ll never forget running lines with you on the plane,” Honda wrote on social media. “I wouldn’t be where I am if you hadn’t introduced yourself at the airport that day. You were such a beautiful and kind soul. I hope you have found your peace bro.”
Mossman moved to Australia from New Zealand in 2012.
