Diners at Sydney up-market eatery Manta got more than they would have bargained for earlier this week.
A video sent to Confidential shows staff doing their best to manage the chaos when an upstairs apartment had seemingly flooded, sending water gushing through light fittings into the bar area of the Woolloomooloo eatery below.
Staff kept their cool though, with the video showing of a barista making coffees under the protection of an umbrella. Now, that is dedication.
Fortunately the majority of seating is outside on the pier so punters continued to enjoy the delightful food on offer.
Inside, however was another story, with the deluge sparking chaos for staff behind the scenes.
“They pushed through incredible adversity with water coming through to the bar and dining area,” owner Rob Robis told Confidential.
“At one point a part of the ceiling came down but the team just kept going, making an alternate route to the outside to serve diners.”
“They basically cleaned and worked for 24 hours to have Manta ready for Tuesday night.”
