Two years after their relationship began, Parish, the assistant coach of the NSW State of Origin team, and the attractive ex-wife of radio commentator Ray Hadley are “still close friends” but Ms Hadley last month moved out of the Manly home the pair shared.

Ms Hadley’s absence from a State of Origin dinner at The Star on Wednesday had tongues flapping that the relationship, which first came to light in May 2014, had cooled.

The pair got together just three weeks after she moved out of the luxury Dural home she and the 2GB radio and league commentator shared, taking their two teenage daughters with her.

The Hadley marriage broke down after a much-publicised heated row in February 2014, which resulted in the commentator’s wife filing an interim Apprehended Violence Order against her husband, which she later withdrew.

Ray Hadley then drew criticism for contacting State of Origin officials and asking for Parish to be more discreet about the new relationship.

The American-born Mrs Hadley reportedly met divorced father Parish during a night out with girlfriends at Terrigal’s Crown Plaza Hotel shortly after separating from Hadley in March 2014.

She has never spoken about the romance but was, said friends at the time, under “extreme pressure” and shaken by what she described as false claims she and Parish started dating before her marriage ended.

“It’s been an unbelievably difficult time for her,” one friend said at the time. “Her marriage ended, she ... moved out of the relationship, but because her estranged husband has a popular radio show, she feels she has an obligation to protect him.”
