“I had absolutely no idea, so it was the best surprise,” Gelmi told The Saturday Telegraph.

“We went for a walk with the dog down at Bondi, like any other day, and he got down on one knee with the most beautiful ring. It was so us and so perfect.
“Some kind strangers even took photos when they saw what was going on and they were so excited for us.”
Gelmi works at Seven while Way is a racing reporter for Sky — which makes it a busy time with the Big Bash League and WBBL underway on Channel 7 and Fox Sports.
And that’s not counting Christmas.
“My cheeks hurt from smiling and it’s such a special time of year,” Gelmi said.
“We‘re seeing both of our families over Christmas too so I dare say the celebrations are going to last a while.”
