COULD Sophie Monk become the next Lara Bingle? Speaking to Confidential, the former Bardot singer has revealed that she’s in talks with a network to produce and star in her own show.
The 36-year-old TV veteran said that the time was right for her to develop the show.
“I’ve done a lot of pilots overseas for my own show, and I didn’t want to do it at that time.”
“I want it to start as a show about me, then be behind the scenes. I don’t want to be in front of the camera forever,” she said.
Although she’s best known for her on-screen appearances, the former Bardot star said she’s also had a hand in producing various shows.
“I’ve done heaps, with E! and MTV, I fully love it. It takes so much more talent than being in front of the camera.”
While she declined to name which network she’s talking to, citing only “quite a few people”, Nine would be the logical home for a show about the Australia’s Got Talent Judge and Celebrity Apprentice 2015 winner.
With the network getting off to a shocking start to the year, execs at Nine could well be considering new series to improve the dismal ratings that it’s been experiencing at prime time.
Monk is also busy appearing in the Escape To Tamriel video for her second appearance for online fantasy game The Elder Scrolls.
Unlike most celebrity spruikers, Monk has happily admitted the world of action role-playing fantasy isn’t one she inhabits.
“God no! It’s a total different world, people are so committed,” she laughed.
“The first iteration was really cute, and I thought it would be really funny so we did it. The audience seemed to really like it, and then the game director from the US saw it and realised he wanted it, so it went global,” she added.
