HE might be all about high fashion on the catwalk, but English-born retired rugby league player-turned-model Kris Smith showed you might be able to take the boy out of Manchester, but you can’t take Manchester out of the boy.
Smith was a long way from the watchful gaze of his luxury sponsors Myer and Jaguar when he was spotted getting down and dirty with notorious Kings Cross personality David Freeman among other “burners” at the annual Burning Man festival.
Smith was joined by his on-again-off-again squeeze Maddy King when he was photographed partying up a storm at the week-long festival held in the Nevada desert.
Also in attendance at the festival was radio shock-jock Kyle Sandilands and his girlfriend Imogen Anthony.
Smith documented his antics on social media, sharing a snap of himself in gold tights which he captioned: “Burning Man You did not disappoint, we danced in the dust, laughed, cried and I even wore sparkly tights, but we had the best time ever.”
And while it seemed to be all peace and love on the ground, it was anything but on the way home, with Smith and King sighted returning from their sojourn separately on their Virgin flight.
Smith was sitting pretty in first class, while King was stuck up the back in economy.
