BEFORE the Botox, lip fillers and bouffant hair, many of the Married At First Sight stars were slugging it out in their day jobs — most of them are completely unrecognisable and others have already tried their hand at reality TV.
Old photographs have emerged of some of the most popular contestants on the hit Nine program show including “virgin” Troy Delmege, Davina Rankin and Ashley Irvin.
Here is what they looked like before the series went to air:
ASHLEY IRVIN
Before the TV spotlight, Married At First Sight’s Ashley was a promising tennis player. She had been in the media before for her achievements at Canterbury College when she was just 16-years-old.
On the program, Ashley is matched with Troy, who was also an aspiring tennis player.
DAVINA RANKIN
In newly resurfaced photos, a platinum blonde Davina is seen posing at Zoo magazine’s 2009 national swimsuit finals.
The Queensland-based bikini babe also previously appeared on Channel Seven’s First Dates in 2016, and Big Brother way back in 2012 — although she was installed as an “extra” and not a full-fledged housemate.
TRACEY JEWEL
Tracey attended the Boobalicious Ball Crown Perth in 2013 before she made her TV debut. The self-described “goddess” and “relationship expert” split with her ex-husband, former honorary consul for France in WA, Patrick Kedemos, in December 2016.
Looking almost unrecognisable, Tracey’s lips look plumper, her eyes wider and skin smoother.
SARAH ROZA
Sarah is one of the few stars on the program who hasn’t changed a great deal. But before she appeared on the show, she was a contestant on the Amazing Race Australia with James Kingsbury.
NASSER SULTAN
Newest villain Nasser was the Nightmare Music head organiser and worked with bands on tour. Photos of Nasser show he liked to rock out himself.
Today, he attributes his youthful complexion to a deep love of moisturising and a daily beauty regimen. Having never married or had children, Nasser admits he is set in his ways.
TROY DELMEGE
Like his TV bride, Troy had a love of tennis before appearing on Married At First Sight. The quirky, larger-than-life personality was photographed 18 years ago at St Leonards in a tennis match.
He and his tennis double partner Melissa Anderson won the Newcombe-Cawley Cup in 2000.
