Shanina Shaik holds baby shower in Hollywood Hills, reveals baby’s gender
The countdown is on until model Shanina Shaik becomes a mum, with the Australian Victoria’s Secret runway star choosing a creative way to reveal the sex of her baby.

Aussie model Shanina Shaik has chosen a novel way of revealing the gender of her first child.
The Victoria’s Secret runway star popped a bottle of tequila with partner Matthew Adesuyan, pouring out the blue beverage into a glass to show the baby sex.
“I am so nervous,” she said in the video shared to her three million followers on Instagram. “I’m so nervous. It’s a boy. We have a little Matthew, oh no.”
The countdown is very much on until Shaik becomes a mum for the first time.
The 31-year-old enjoyed an intimate baby shower at a private home in the Hollywood Hills surrounded by a close group of family and friends at the weekend.
“Today was so extremely special and so much fun,” Shaik wrote on Instagram. “I have so many people to thank.”
Shaik thanked close girlfriends including Australian DJ Georgia Sinclair, and American model Jasmine Tookes and Nicole Williams English, the wife of American footballer Larry English who is also pregnant.
The 31-year-old is expecting her first child with record label executive partner Matthew Adesuyan.
A number of guests shared a personal note written by Shaik and Adesuyan on behalf of their unborn child.
“Thank you for the special gifts that I will soon see,” the note read. “Mum and dad said you picked them out just for me! I’m very busy growing and getting stronger by the day. And come September 26th I’ll be on the way. So let’s shower mum today for being so great, and for all the long months that she will have to wait. Love Baby Adesuyan.”
Shaik wore a sheer custom dress she helped design.
Cookies featured on social media were made in the shape of African animals including a lion, zebra and monkey.
Shaik’s mother, Kim, flew to Los Angeles from Australia for the event while Adesuyan and his mother also attended.
Other guests included Victoria’s Secret models Josephine Skriver and Sara Sampaio, TV presenter Olivia Pierson and actor Georgie Flores.
“Hottest baby mama ever,” Sinclair wrote as she shared an image with Shaik.
A tarot card reader was on hand while a stuffed teddy bear station meant guests could build their own plush toy to take home.
In May, Shaik revealed she is pregnant. At the time, she shared a series of images of her growing baby bump that she labelled “the new love of my life”.
“Thank you for choosing me to be your mum,” she wrote.
“I have always wanted you for as long as I can remember, and at times my patience was tested. The timing had to be right, and I can say with confidence that I am ready to be your guide, your protector and your best friend.
“As each month goes by during this precious journey of pregnancy, I am learning what the role of being a mother entails. I worry a lot, especially about your wellbeing and development.
“It’s a feeling that I’ve never experienced before, not even about myself. I would do anything for you, be anything for you and sacrifice anything for you.”
