House and Chicago Fire star Jesse Spencer – who got his start in Neighbours – has married his research scientist girlfriend on the beach in Florida.

Australian actor Jesse Spencer has found a silver lining to the devastating year that has been 2020 in marrying his long term partner.
The Chicago Fire star and research scientist Kali Woodruff tied the knot with just a few family and friends to witness the nuptials on June 27.
They walked down the aisle in Woodruff’s hometown of Neptune Beach, Florida, and chose the date to honour her grandparents and parents, who were celebrating four decades as husband and wife.
“Despite a spike in COVID, a venue change, a Saharan dust plume, not to mention a torrential thunderstorm, we made it across the line on our wedding day, and I’m a very lucky man,” Spencer said, excited to finally share his happy news. “What a silver lining to 2020. She’s smart, pretty and way ahead of her years. We’re very happy. She is my port in every storm, and we’re already excited to be moving on to the next phase of our lives.’
Spencer, 41, is one of our most successful acting exports to Hollywood, having got his start in Australia playing Billy Kennedy on TV soap Neighbours.
Moving to the United States in the early 2000s, he landed major television gigs including playing Dr Robert Chase on critically acclaimed US series, House.
His film credits include Uptown Girls, Swimming Upstream and The Girl Is In Trouble.
Spencer, who was born and raised in Melbourne and has three siblings, and Woodruff started dating in 2014 after meeting at a music festival in Chicago. He proposed during a week-long trek along the Inca trail in the Peruvian Andes last year.
She works as a research scientist at Northwestern University while Spencer is up to his ninth season of Chicago Fire.
