Sam Armytage caught in an awkward foot-in-mouth moment with Fitzy

Sam Armytage has been caught out in an awkward foot-in-mouth moment with Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald as she continued to comment about MAFS Martha for the fourth day running.

Sunrise host Samantha Armytage has been caught in an awkward foot-in-mouth moment on the Fitzy and Wippa show while again commenting on Married At First Star Martha Kalifatidis.

Armytage was a guest on Nova’s breakfast show this morning where Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald, Michael “Wippa” Wipfli grilled her about the ugly feud that has developed between the 31-year-old and the panel on Sunrise that began on Monday when David Koch accused Kalifatidis of elbowing him on the Logies red carpet.

Kalifatidis denied the claims and accused the show of bullying her.

This morning Armytage continued the feud, saying: “I won’t throw any shade at Martha but let’s not give it anymore oxygen because the 15 minutes is going on and on.”

But then the Weight Watchers ambassador evidently forgot her company, ex-Big Brother contestant Fitzgerald.

“Have you ever been on those red carpets? They’re pushy. And have you ever been on those red carpets with a reality star?” she continued.

Wipfli interjected: “It’s Fitzy — he was from Big Brother and he was really pushy,” he said.

Armytage’s eagerness to pile on to an easy target obviously blinded her from realising that many former reality stars have gone on to have longstanding careers in Australian media, with Fitzgerald being one of them.
