Sailor Brinkley reveals what it’s like being compared to her supermodel mum

The daughter of former supermodel Christie Brinkley is ready to follow in her mother’s footsteps and take on the modelling. Now she has moved to Sydney to work and reveals what it was like growing up with a famous mum.

Never get a big head — they were wise words of wisdom former supermodel Christie Brinkley imparted to daughter Sailor.

Living in Sydney for the next three months, the 20-year-old has followed in her famous mother’s footsteps and is a working model.

“Her number one piece of advice has been to always be mindful of how many people are working so hard around me, whether it is on the shoots or at the parties or whatever,” Brinkley told Confidential.

“And not just to not get a big head about it all but to know how hard everyone is working in their own ways.”

Sailor has taken the year off from studying photography at New York’s Parsons Art and Design School to focus on modelling.

Signed to IMG, Sailor famously appeared in swimsuit mag Sports Illustrated with her mother. “I get it often,” she said of comparisons to her mum.

“It is not bad, I am fine with getting that compliment. It is a blessing in that it brings opportunity and meeting all of these incredible people.
