Sacha Baron Cohen reprised his role as Borat at a recent comedy show in Sydney but there was no sign of his trademark green mankini when he hit the beach on Saturday.

The Hollywood actor, 49, stepped out in a long-sleeved rash vest, shorts and a swimming cap while enjoying a dip in the ocean at Whale beach on Saturday as the city’s 14-day lockdown continues.

Cohen and his wife Isla Fisher have been regularly spotted surfing on the Northern Beaches and were seen with another A-list couple during a family day out last week - Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied.

The British actor has adjusted well to life in Australia since moving from the US late last year, as he and Fisher are fans of the beach culture.

The couple relocated from their home in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles during the pandemic with their three children – Olive, 12, Elula, nine, and Montgomery, five.

Wedding Crashers star Fisher, 45, who was born in Oman but grew up in Australia, previously said her family feels “safe” down under.

The couple first met nearly 20 years ago at an event in Sydney and got engaged two years later, before tying the knot in Paris in 2010.

Last month, Cohen delighted fans at Moore Park’s Entertainment Quarter when he performed as his iconic Borat character on stage during a surprise show as part of The Comedy Festival showcase.

“He was a surprise guest at the end of the showcase,” one onlooker previously said.

“There were about 100 people in there. They’re trying something new.”

Guests were instructed to place their phones inside locked pouches to prevent any footage from being captured.

Cohen previously applauded Australia’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic and said more celebrities are relocating because they feel “safe”.
