After being hard hit by the pandemic last year, PR maven Roxy Jacenko is rebuilding her businesses.

The Sweaty Betty boss lost 85 per cent of her businesses in just three days when Covid hit last March and subsequently had to let some of her staff go.

More than a year later, Jacenko has managed to save her struggling empire, which includes seven businesses.

“Fortunately, each of my businesses are well on the way to full recovery post Covid-19 in 2020 - we are back at 25 staff and kicking some major goals working with brands like Saint Laurent, Mermade Hair on the PR side and brand side, Pixie’s Fidgets has been a seriously incredible start up with five stores in NSW,” she told Confidential.

The eastern suburbs mum-of-two runs The Ministry of Talent, Social Union, 18 Communications, Pixie’s Bows, Roxy Jacenko Accessories and XRJ Celebrations.

And although she is currently working out of her $6.5 million Vaucluse home during lockdown, Jacenko has found a new way to make money online.

She recently listed items from her designer wardrobe on The Luxe Base, with hopes of investing more in Sydney’s property market and expand her property portfolio.

‘’Selling items from my wardrobe is something I have always done seasonally,” she said.

“I am all about out with the old and in with the new — that and I want to buy more property, there’s only so many clothes one can wear.”

While Jacenko is known for her lavish lifestyle, she previously said the pandemic served as a wakeup call.

“The coronavirus pandemic for me has been a real awakening,” she said.

“I’ve realised that yes, it’s nice to have money, yes it’s nice to have a room full of Birkin bags, but do you know what? I’m actually quite happy and happier to have a simpler life.

“Yes I still want nice things make no mistake but the obsession is not there.”
