‘You wankers!’ Golfer Robert Allenby launches bizzare Twitter attack against critics

IT’S barely been a week since Robert Allenby was in strife at a casino in the US — now it seems the golfer still hasn’t learned his lesson.

CONTROVERSIAL Aussie golfer Robert Allenby has broken a year-long hiatus from Twitter with a social media tirade against “wankers” and “people that have NO respect”.

In a bizarre series of tweets, the 45-year-old hit out at comparisons between embattled American swimmer Ryan Lochte’s disputed tale of a gunpoint robbery during the Olympics and Allenby’s own report of being kidnapped, robbed and attacked in Hawaii last year.

Allenby stands by his claim he was beaten and abducted after visiting a Honolulu wine bar where he had been drinking following missing the cut at the Sony Open.

But confusion remains about exactly what happened to Allenby and some on social media compared his incident to that of Lochte, who was caught lying about being robbed at gunpoint during a night out in Rio.

“So nice that all you wankers put me in the class as Lochte He is an amazing swimmer and GOLD medallist,” Allenby wrote.

Allenby’s Twitter account also ranted about trolls, adding: “I am awesome mate, just had a gutful of all you Dic-heads”.

Allenby, who told one follower he was not intoxicated, also got into a bitter war of words with fellow Australian pro golfer Aron Price.

“I’m so f...ing great you could never imagine,” Allenby wrote, accompanied by a picture of a middle finger.

“You are so far below me I can’t find you”.

While Price, currently ranked No.472 in the world, has since deleted most of his tweets, he left one zinger online.

“I won the Kareela junior club champs. Get that up ya”, he tweeted.

Allenby was recently arrested outside an Illinois casino and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass after he missed the cut at the John Deere Classic.
