BRITISH pop singer Rita Ora has revealed she underwent fertility treatment in her early 20s, freezing her eggs.
Speaking on Seven’s Sunrise today, the 26-year-old said: “I’ve never actually said that on TV and I am 26 and some people might be, ‘wow that is so young’. I just really wanted to be safe. Maybe that again is me being crazy.”
Ora, in Australia promoting her new single Anywhere, made the revelation as one of the panellists on breakfast show’s daily Newsfeed segment.

“I may never use them, you never know,” she said. “I think it is amazing the technology we have now to kind of really take control of our own destiny,” she said. “Me being 27 soon, I thought about this when I was in my early 20s, about kids. Maybe that is me being a hypochondriac or whatever but I’ve always wanted a big family and my doctor actually asked me, ‘I think you should freeze your eggs’. That is what he said to me.”
Ora, who has in the past dated Drake and Calvin Harris, continued: “He has been my family doctor for a very long time and he said, ‘you are at your healthiest now, why don’t you just put them away and you’ll never have to worry about it again’. I think it depends on people’s beliefs and I am a big believer in using what we have and making the most of it.”
Earlier this week, Ora spoke to Confidential about her much anticipated second studio album that is slated for release next year.
“I really wanted to get to the bottom of what people wanted to know, everything with my personal life. It all boiled up from the frustration of not being able to put music out for a few years,” she said. “It was anger into desperation into sadness and so it has a lot of emotion in there. The good news is I have one really powerful song for all my ladies and it is called Girls.”
She added: “You’ve just got to go with the flow. If people like it, they like it.”
Ora will tour Australia in 2018.
“When I come back next year I am definitely touring.
