Just seven weeks after giving birth to her second child and Jesinta Franklin is back at work.
And the madness of one minute breast feeding her new bub and the next being photographed alongside one of the world’s top pop singers and an international supermodel wasn’t lost on the second-time mum.
The wife of AFL star Buddy Franklin was one of the star guests at a breakfast beauty launch overlooking Sydney’s iconic Opera House on Monday.
“It feels very surreal,” Franklin told The Daily Telegraph, stepping out for the event after the birth of son, Rocky.
“I was literally just feeding a newborn baby in the car and then all of a sudden I am standing next to Rita Ora in front of a tonne of media. It is very surreal but it makes me feel really grateful for what I do. I am really lucky that I have a work schedule that is flexible around me and the kids. They are my number one priority and they always will be but it is nice to be able to step out and have a little me time. It feels like a luxury.”
Joining Franklin and Ora at the launch of Vida Glow 2.0 was top Australian model Duckie Thot, who is usually based overseas and has spent the past two weeks in mandatory hotel quarantine.
“The days kind of started to meld into each other,” Thot said. “I took the space to do what I wanted to do, read, meditate, sleep, watch television, sleep again. It was a cycle but I was mainly looking after myself.”
British singer Ora meanwhile has been based in Sydney for several months shooting reality series, The Voice.
“I feel like it is my second home,” she said. “It is just a very beautiful country.”
Also attending the breakfast event were singer Vera Blue and model Gemma Ward.
Franklin gave birth to baby Rocky in March.
She and her husband are also parents to daughter, Tullulah.
“Two under two is crazy,” Franklin, 30, said.
“Both of them together, the love doubles but your time and your attention has to be split now. It is really hard having to divide that time and the attention and the love sometimes too. I have been up since three this morning with a teething toddler and Rocky was up for a feed then. I am tired, I am not going to lie.”
